IndED Academies (short for “Independent Education”) is Loudoun County’s first “micro-school”, preparing children for the 21st century through Classical and project-based learning experiences led by dedicated Mentors. We arm parents with tools of learning which will develop capable, adaptable, and well-grounded students not only ready to enter a rapidly changing work-world, but fully prepared to engage in the responsibility that is community and citizenship.
IndED believes that “cultivation to the mind is as necessary as food to the body.” We prepare students for the future through Classical and project-based learning experiences led by dedicated Mentors through our Learning Library and within Full-time MicroSchool communities:
The Learning Library is a great resource for student-members to experience IndED’s project-based learning model, while exploring the world of the Arts, Citizenship, Leadership, and Science. From workshops for parents, co-op hours for homeschoolers, after-school enrichment courses, and our Friday Open Lab, students get a tailored, and inspiring education while interacting with the community of #DtownLsbrg.
Our First Comprehensive program is a full-time homeschool co-op for the 2016-2017 school year for 4th to 6th graders:
Strong, Classical Foundation, alongside project-based learning, as well as enrichment through Library Courses
Personalized Individual Learning Plans
Small class sizes; multi-age classrooms
